I am online, in my living room, with my brandnew shiny white Eeeeeee PC! Watching JAG and, did I mention being online?

Happy birthday to me!

*smiles*

Oh, and I also got myself these shoes:

It's so good to be a girl! (and having had 32 years to learn how to walk in these)
;-)
Important changes in my life will cause me to stay away from fannish things even more than I am right now. Though, these last weeks, I feel like I've actually spent quite a lot of time here and I intend to keep that up. I just need to focus my fannish energies. In order to make more room for my life, I've stopped buying books (but I'm trying) cut down my TV watching schedule.

Here's what remains:

The Unit (SO EXCITED! YAY UNIT! BOB!)
NCIS (duh!)
Supernatural (what did you think?)
Numb3rs (so much love. I just wish they'd give an advance warning for the obligatory three boring eps every season)
Bones (OMG the Bones!love!)
Brothers&Sisters
CSI (for now, I may have to cut CSI later, but I feel rather loyal towards it. I've never missed an episode.)
Desperate Housewives (for now. I'm not at all fannish about the show, but I like watching it, and I think I will miss the people if I stop)
Doctor Who (which won't come back forever)
Eureka (very likely going to be cut later this year)
Torchwood (for now, will likely be cut due to exceedingly bad acting by John Barrowman and no more Tosh love)

I will only be adding one new show this fall season, Leverage, and it's only because there is always time for a dosis of Christian Kane on my screen. Except, if the how doesn't get better, I'd rather look at pictures or rewatch Angel.

It still looks like a lot, but with Torchwood and Doctor Who not coming back for a long time, it really isn't. Significant cuts were House, SGA and Burn Notice. Don't get me wrong, I love House, but I'm not interested enough in the actual content of the show to keep watching with the limited time that I now have. I'm actually trying to cut down to just NCIS, Numb3rs, Supernatural, Bones and The Unit, which would still give me almost one show every day that I don't have time for. DW would stay as an extra, as it is shown when the others are on hiatus anyway. However, I cannot really imagine living without Brothers&Sisters. We'll see how it works.

Most likely I will also be doing a massive flist cut. I haven't decided on anything yet, but if you always wanted to get rid of me but just felt that you couldn't unfriend me for some reason (why that would be escapes me), now would be a good time. I might still keep you friended though, because if I have friended you now, it's very likely that you are interesting and that I don't want to get rid of you. Which is the real problem - I don't want to unfriend anyone right now. I love my flist. But ti's too big, so it's either unfriending or rigorous filtering. I'll figure that out if I ever have the time.

It's kind of sad how reorganizing my real life means cutting down my tv watching. I guess that means that it was long overdue.

To those of you who were wondering: I did it.

Margueritem is here, and we went out and talked to strange maleness,
no wait, male strangers! We so have a life!

Oh, and she also told me that I was on a date when I was in Paris
three years ago, only I didn't know it was a date until now. With that
much social life, it's no wonder I don' t find enough time to lj
anymore... ;-)

*smooches margueritem for being awesome and the rest of the flist, too*
I'm back from the most fabulous vacation ever. I'd tell you all about it, but I'm too busy catching up on slash and vids. (also, I hear there are new ipods, and hey, mine seems to have breathed his last breath just yesterday, how's that for timing?). So here's the summary:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE horses.

I LOVE France.

I love podslash.

I had dreams about a fic where Cameron is Daniel's something (I'm not sure what to call it, but I'm sure it involves a collar), and one night Daniel is somewhere (who cares about details?) where he runs into a not-so-happy-to-be-back-on-earth John Sheppard wearing eyeliner, and maybe glitter, and the he takes him home for Cameron. I'm currently looking for this fic all over, because I'm sure it must exist. DAniel. John. Cameron.
GLITTER.
Come on.

I did not write any postcards, but fear not, for I will leave for Hungary on Tuesday. I hear they have postcards there, too. I wonder if I can get a new ipod in just two days.
[livejournal.com profile] reedfem, thank you for the e-card! Heh, Nutcracker squirrels, so cute!

[livejournal.com profile] mabiana, thank you for the postcard! Finding christmas cards in the mail always makes me smile, so thank you!

Unknown person who is probably [livejournal.com profile] agentotter (if not, who are you?): Thank you for the two (!) cards you sent me (you are spoiling me)! Let's go on a Montana double date!

Jack, Daniel and the bear, who is probably [livejournal.com profile] agentotter too, unless you all live in Montana now: thank you so much! There really isn't anything like Jack and Daniel to make me happy, and Jack and Daniel and the bear are just perfect.

THANK YOU all so much!

I love sending cards, too, but I have this strange thing about commitment, where when I say I'll send a card, I probably won't do it. However, if some time in the near or distant future you'd like to receive a postcard from me (I'm a bit late for christmas, I know), please either email me you address (including your LJ name, so I know who you are), to oceana2602 @ gmail.com or leave it in a comment to this post. All comments are screened and will be deleted after I have written down your address. I give good postcards. At least the people who have gotten psotcards in the past have never complained. ;-)

(if you think that I have your address ([livejournal.com profile] _bettina_, [livejournal.com profile] taelonmahal etc), I probably really have it. Somewhere. It was right there, I swear. No, I'll find it, don't worry. [livejournal.com profile] enigel, I'm not really sure if I have your new address, [livejournal.com profile] ashism, I got your message, thanks. Can I still send stuff to your old address?)

Thank you anonymous wonderful person who gave me a virtual rose! It has made me very very happy, and it couldn't have come at a better time. I wish there was anything I could offer in return, but my skills in making fannish gifts are non-existant, so I hope you'll take my happiness and the big smile that has planted itself on my face as a thank you.

*hugs*
