With all my other shows on hiatus and Torchwood STILL not starting, I decided to give GA another try. Remember, I gave up on SGA four episodes into the current season, for lack of time and commitment, as well as structural problems with its... structure. But today I read Helen's incredible new story "17.5", was remined of how much I love John Sheppard and here I am, watching
SGA 4x05'Travelers
Or rather, having just finished watching it after about 20 minutes.
I admit that after reading the summary, I feared worse. Not much worse, though. Actually, Sheppard as a sex slave captured to spread around his ancient genes would probably have been better. At least it would have been prettier than the dark and damp space-ship. He could have been bedded on red stain.... *mind wanders off*
Where was I? Oh yes, 20 minutes of "Travelers". I refuse to believe that this show I loved so much during the first two seasons has really become such a horrible, shallow versions of all space show clichés that ever were. Therefore, I choose to believe that this episode is some really deep parody with tons of dark, intelligent humor, saying profound things about said space show clichés that I just don't get, because I never liked space shows and have therefore never watched them.
This belief is brought to you by my nyr "Think positive, always try to find something nice to say", and it's all I'm willing to say on the matter. I will, however, try SGA 4x06, and who knows, maybe I won't have to fast-forward through more than half of it.
No wait, I forgot to say that I loved the scene where they sit in the cafeteria in the end, and John gives Rodney that apologetic look because he (almost) screwed the space warrior princess, but cannot help feeling a bit smug about being so hot that women all over the galaxy try to screw him. Even though he is totally gay, but the sex is so much better when Rodney is a bit jealous. See, that's the problem with the show: it tries to make Sheppard into this big, hetero-sexual sex symbol, all manly man, waving about his gun and his puddlejumper. For God's sake, do you think anyone on The Unit would name a space ship puddlejumper????
Thank heaven we have Joe Flannigan who has read the signs right and plays Sheppard as gay as he ishould be. I wouldn't want him any other way.

Wasn't Jack supposed to be on SGA? Or Daniel? I don't remember which one, but if they were in one of the aired episodes, could someone please tell me which one?
