I did my duty and voted for Jack/Daniel, here. I do not want to offend anyone who voted for the other pairing, or favors a different pairing altogether, or - shock is not a slasher at all.
But, for the record: I am a Jack/Daniel shipper, and I am proud to be one!
Here's why:
The way I see it, Paul wants Daniel for his looks and his body. When he looks at Daniel, you get the impression he wants to undress him right there. Plus, he would enjoy the danger that a homosexual affair is for a member of the Air Force. Poor Paul, there is not enough danger in his life, with him working for the Pentagon! So, that makes for hot sex between Daniel and Paul. That is good. There is nothing wrong with hot sex between two attractive members of the male kind.
There is nothing wrong with wanting Daniel for his looks and his body either. I totally understand that.
So, there is nothing wrong with Daniel/Paul.
BUT: Jack is SO in love with Daniel! I look at him, and I always see how much he is on love with him! Even in Season 4 when he does all kinds of mean things to Daniel and tries to be that confident heterosexual that he isn't . ;-)
I know, sometimes it doesn't look like that, but I just know he is in love with Daniel. See, that's why I am shipper.
Some stories can make me believe that Daniel is in love with Paul. Some stories make me believe that Paul is serious about Daniel.
But I will not read a story that wants to make me believe that Jack is not in love with Daniel.
I even read some Jack/Sam (and see,
x5_536, it is possible to write this is one slash, hurts just a little). Good Jack/Sam. Stories that I really liked.
There is nothing wrong with Jack/Sam, though I would not read sweet love stories with that pairing, where there are no problems and everybody is just disgustingly happy for them to be together. (Though I tend to avoid that type of story for any pairing.)
I like the darker, more complicated aspect of their relationship. The ones that - like writing Jack/Sam with one slash - hurt just a little. The good kind of pain. (Go here and read some brilliant, dark Jack/Sam stories.) But they cannot make me believe that Jack is not in love with Daniel.
And because Jack deserves some happiness in his life, and happiness for him means Daniel, I am a J/D shipper!
:-)
(In terms of exams: two down, three to go. Yay me. Yesterday was absolutely horrible, today went rather well. I think. I hope.)
