For those of you who don't know yet:
Lj is offering free paid time for us poor abused paid members
You either get two weeks for free, or you get two months if you buy another six or twelve months now. Great, I just bought six months last week, for the first time. I always bought only two months before. So, I thought, whatever. Buy another six months.
Returned to the reimbursement page and got zip. Two weeks. Thanks so much lj. If it wasn't for the icons I wouldn't bother with the paid account anyway, and at the moment I am so pissed that I'd like to give up this thing altogether.
Complained in paidmembers, because I want my free two months, dammit.
I know, I shouldn't complain, it's a really great offer and I sure hadn't expected it, but seeing that it doesn't actually work on top of everything else...ARGH! I'm so angry!
Just yesterday LJ wouldn't let me access my account at all. I could see other ljs, but my own had disappeared! No user currently registered under that name, or whatever it says.
They should pay me for the heart attack I had when I read this.
Right.

enigel has kindly offered to make one for me, and I'm sure hers will be fabulous.
Anyway, I'd like to make it into a little challenge, so if you'd like to give it a try:
Here's what I'd like: Sam, looking serious, but not sad. Just the way she looks when she thinks hard and is trying to figure something out. Sharp picture, but faded colors. I don't want it to be too bright, but I don't want black and white either.
And I'd like it to say "Trying so hard to be perfect" or maybe just "Trying so hard"
Does anyone think that this idea does not suck, and is willing to give it a try? I'll share and give credit and kiss your feet.
Still no new computer. Didn't have time to look at the offers yesterday, because I had a job interview. I am not absolutely sure if I got the job, but it sounded good. They said they would contact me with my first assignment (I'd be working projects, not full time), but I was in this situation before. Interview went alright, though I made the stupid mistake of not asking for enough money. Damn.
Anyway, computer. If I get the job, I'll buy one. But I have no idea what to buy. I know nothing about computers, so it should be mostly complete. I can't build one myself form just the parts. What is important? What do I need?
You'll laugh when I tell you what I am working with at the moment, but I'll tell you anyway, in hope that you can help me chossing a nice new companion for my laptop.
- My computer:
Bought at ALDI (yes, the germans will know what I'm talking about*g*). 6 GB HD with an additional 20 GB that I got with my burner (who - by being broken - is the cause of all this). 64 MB RAM (*laughs*). Windows 98.
- My laptop *pets laptop*
Toshiba, 40 GB HD, 2,0 GH processor (whatever that means), 256 MB RAM, CD, but no DVD burner, Windows XP. Also, it is shiny and silver and blue. Not ever used online, because I am very paranoid, and all my fannish things are on there.
So, in light of this poor equipment: what do I need? I was looking at offers online, and I don't think I need a large HD, at least not 120 GB. I'd like it to be fast and reliable, well, as reliable as a Windows operated computer can be.
