Yes, that's right, you are looking at Paul Mc Gillions, best known for playing Carson Beckett, Rodney McKay's love interest in Sci-Fi channels new hit show, the Stargate spin-off Atlantis.
So far, Beckett has only had short cameo appearances, but the fans have already discovered what the producers wanted to hide: that Beckett is a hottie who has a secret affair with the Canadian Rodney McKay, seducing the formerly straight scientist -he had an affair with Samantha Carter in his guest role on the original series- almost instantly.
Looking at those pics, who can blame McKay?
Says Harvey Slash from Stargate Atlantis: "We had planned to hide Paul's attractiveness until later in the series. There was a big coming out scene planned for episode 18, involving alien sex rituals and orgies. But the fans were faster: they saw the attraction right away. So we changed our original plan, giving McKay some quality time with Major Sheppard, one of the other lead characters. Yes, there will be more Beckett/McKay, but I won't tell you when and how. You will have to watch the show yourself."
Now, that sounds like Beckett will see quite a bit of action in this first season of Atlantis. Leaves us wondering what hot Major Sheppard will say to his role as a substitue lover for McKay. Last we heard he's been having affairs with his superior Elizabeth Weir as well as young Rainbow Ford, so he can probably handle a third lover.
