Stargate Season 8x01: New Order

I LOVED it. I loved every single moment. Really. The perfect ep.
Okay, maybe not in the grand scheme of things, but it was the perfect season opener, and there was not a single scene I didn't like.
I'm not sure if I am coherent enough to write about it yet, but let me try.

- New Weir. I thought she was very cool, and very good-looking. Of course she flirted with Daniel a little bit, but I don't think she was doing it on purpose. She just couldn't help herself. And really, we would all do the same if we were in her position, so let's not balme her for that.

- New Hair. Teal'c has HAIR! Of course I already knew that, and I had seen pictures, but to see it? Wow. Weird. I'm not sure if I like it, well, I like it, but I'm not sure if I didn't like the hairless Teal'c better. But it wasn't bad.
Sam's hair on the other hand...well, it was better then the "I put my fingers into a socket, but it was still too long for my taste. Though she was very pretty in this ep, so I guess the hair was alright.

- Sam taking charge! I squeed when she told Daniel that he ad to stay on earth. It was obviously her decision, and she said it as a clear order. I love Sam in charge. *g*

- Teal'c/Sam UST. Notice how she asks innocent questions and then suddenly jumps to his girl-friend? And he does the same? They want each other badly. It would be a good thing, because Teal'c is probably more resistable than her other boyfriends were.

- Fifth. Everyone already said things about Fifth. I wasn't too thrilled to see him, but I loved the whole story-line: Asgard, Goa'uld, replicators... I really liked the Fifth/Sam interaction, but to be honest: I had already forgotten that he existed. So yes, I was a bit surprised to see him.

- Thor. This may be my only complaint about the ep, but Thor seemed a bit, hmm, flat. As if he had already given up. But I am always glad to see Thor, so I won't complain. *hugs Thor* Oops. *g*

- STEVE BACIC! And he wanted Weir so badly! *squees*

- The Daniel Jackson! And they merged Jack's conscience with it! This was really the best part of the episode. It could have easily been the "Sam Carter", because Sam did a lot more for the Asgard than Daniel. But they made it the "Daniel Jackson", and they made me very very happy.

- Jack/Daniel. They are so in love. Their interaction was priceles. The "arguing", and the "Jack?" - "Daniel?" thing. I found myself literally making little squeeing noises when they did the thing with the guns. And did anyone else notice how Jack touched Daniel's shoulder before he goes and gets himself a gun? SQUEEE! Random touching, what better proof of their love is there? The Jack/Daniel-ness made me incredibly happy, and I really wasn't expecting it.
I was so worried about all the things they could have done with Jack and Sam regarding the revival and reunion, but instead they make it a Jack/Daniel ep. I love them so much!

- Brigadier General Jack O'Neill. *sigh* The words alone make me shiver. I loved how Jack talked about his promotion with the rest of the team. I admit that at first, when they showed only Daniel, I had this nano-second hope that I had travelled to an alternate reality, where Jack/Daniel slash was real, and that they were showing Jack talking about the promotion with his lover. It was better this way, of course, I would have missed Sam and Teal'c.
And, heh: "I can do anything I want."
Again it is Daniel who gives him these ideas, like in Window of Opportunity. And I loved how Carter said "Within reason", because that is so her. She trusts Jack, but that doesn't keep her from worrying a bit. I love her for that.
I didn't like the scene of her promotion very much. I am happy that she got promoted, but we have seen all these pics before, when she was promoted to Major. I think Daniel was even wearing the same suit.
But when Jack entered the gate room with his dress blues, I was actually whimpering. It's embarrassing, but I couldn't help myself.

I can't believ how slashy that ep was. Their movements were so very much in sync. They were always shown together, and Jack said "Thank you for your concern." I think he was really touched. It is his way of saying "I love you".
I am so happy. SO happy.

Also, Teal'c looks damn hot in black.
