Point Pleasant Pilot

After I heard quite a few people on my flist talk about Point Pleasant, I decided to download the pilot.

Overall, it was way too predictable. But there were some nice shots, like the sky before the rain, and I liked how they used the weather and the light to create the mood throughout the episode.
Plus, it's Richard Burgi. And the guy from Space, James Morrison.

It wasn't bad, so I'll download the second episode too, see where they are going with it.

Chasing Mark Harmon

I watched "Chasing Liberty", a one and a half hour waste of time.
Except for the few precious Mark Harmon scenes, and even they weren't very good.

Which is sad, because the film had potential. President's daughter runs off with Secret Service agent without knowing his identity, falling in love with each other...
It could have been so heartbreaking. She could have really needed his protection, he could have really fallen for her, unable to act on it, then he would get orders to bring her back, she'd realize who he is, her heart would be broken, he'd have to try to get her trust back, because he really fell for her...

But it didn't happen.
Instead we got the most annoying actress ever, Mandy Moore, totally unable to portray the protected little President's daughter who falls in love for the first time.
And we get a Secret Service agent who won't follow orders, who totally uses her, not that the movie saw it that way, but he did, and she just forgives him. No danger, no drama, no nothing.

Waste of time.

On a happier note:
