Just bought Farscape DVDs at Ebay. Of course I had to buy the Season 2 box set, because everyone and their dogs seem to be buying Season 1 at the moment, and it is just to damn expensive. Season 2 was a lot more than I would usually spent, but still, Farscape. Let the obsession begin. *g*

Is there someone who doesn't know the effect of saying a word so often that it begins to sound strange and doesn't make sense anymore?
Well, I managed to read so much Highlander fic that I found myself staring at the word "Duncan" for a full thirty seconds without being able to figure out what it meant. It just looked weird, "Dun" and "can", and what is the "can" doing there anyway.
Note to self: stop reading slash when it begins to melt your brain.

I finally figured out how to organize my Gmail account. Now I'm just waiting how long it takes to max the 1 GB limit. With my fourty groups, that shouldn't be a problem.

I can't post without complaining:
I don't get all my LJ comments. You are laughing now, but it isn't funny anymore. I thought they had figured out where all those comments disappeared to, but mine still aren't there. I wouldn't even have noticed if it wasn't for a comment I left somewhere that I expected an answer for. The answer was there, just not in my inbox. I swear, one of these days I'm going to kill LJ. I seem to be getting all the comments that are left in my own LJ though, so if I didn't answer those, that's just me being lazy. Can't blame LJ for that.

Last but not least: Area 52 has been updated. Lovely fics by Kylie Lee, Salieri, Gigi and SEF, if you haven't read them yet, do so now.
I also read a fic by an author called Moonshayde that wasn't too bad. Set during New Order and Rising, so there are Season 8 and Atlantis spoilers. A take on the wellknown "Huh, I've got feelings for my best friend, how did that happen?" scenario, that isn't exactly new, but I didn't feel like I had wasted my time either. There's room for improvement, but when is there not? And I always try out the "new " authors, that is "new" to Area52. Though if you only have a limited amount of slash reading time, read the authors I named above.

Oh, and I don't think I've gipped the lovely Flyboys icon [livejournal.com profile] adinajo made yet, so GIP!
Speed Reading:
You read between 500 - 550 words per minute. Very good reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read.

Well, that is still 300 words away from the virtual speed reading (850 - 900 words per minute), but I think it' ll do. I read a bit faster when I read german texts, and of course it's all a question of the lay-out- Plus, it's almost midnight here, and I've been in front of the computer for way too long.

Take the test here.
