Hullo...
Since it is a bit windy over here, I decided not to leave the house and watched some Stargate season 1 instead. The season 1 box set was the first thing I bought in 2007, and what a wise decision that was. Of course, I had already seen all the eps (in fact, I own them on VHS, so if anyone wants the tapes, please holler).
Season 1 is pure nostalgia, so let me remind you of some of the wonderful moments:
Children of the Gods
- Jack sending Daniel the tissue box. They were already in love back then, they just didn't know.
- The kiss. The one between Daniel and Sha're, which I can't even look at because pulic displays of affection make me blush, even on TV.
- Sam meeting Daniel for the first time. Because they are already the Wonder Twins and so adorable.
- Jack taking Daniel home when he is lost and doesn't know where to go.
- Daniel offering himself as a host. *shivers*
- Jack promising Daniel that they will find Skaara and Sha're.
The Enemy Within
- Teal'c being interviewed. I just love that scene because he is so Teal'cand still a stranger.
- Jack and Daniel standing very close together at Kawalsky's bed.
- Losing Kawalsky. In hindsight, his death stays for so many more to come and it made me really sad watching it, even thoug, or maybe because, we never had the chance to get to know him.
- The team heading out together for the first time as a team.
Emancipation
- Horses! Every SG episode with horses is a good episode! (and to every rule there is an exception...)
- The dress! Granted, it's horrible, but I still love how Daniel and Jack stare at her and try to find something to say.
- Uhm... more horses? I fell asleep during this ep and couldn't be bothered to watch it again. Despite the horses.
The Broca Divide
- The first conflict between Daniel and Jack about staying for culture vs. finding weapons.
- Daniel arguing with Gen. Hammond when he already won the argument. You know, he really is kind of rude to General Hammond in the beginning. Will have to pay attention when this changes.
- Teal'c being all strong and Teal'c when the first infected caveman attacks him.
- Carter trying to "seduce" Jack in the locker room. Still not a shipper, still love the scene.
- Daniel saying "you poor man" when Jack tells him about the incident, and then Jack being all jealous because his Daniel wants to know how Carter is doing.
- Tries to forget Caveman!Jack.
- Daniel waking up from his infection asking for Jack.
- Jack's comment about Sam's "tank top thingy" at the very end.
The First Commandment
- The bandana! Yes, this is the episode our favourite Daniel accesoire premiered in. Unless it was in the Emancipation part that I slept through.
- Sam was engaged! To a man who likes control! I don't know about you, but this is so far back that I always tend to forget about it.
- Tents! That they don't sleep in, but still, canon tents, two of them. One for Sam, one for Jack and Daniel to have sex in while Teal'c kel'no'reems outside. Thousands of slash fics are base on this arrangement.
- Sam being unable to shoot Jonas. I don't know what it would have done to my perception of the character if she had shot him.
Cold Lazarus
- The crystal planet. I still love that set, the yellow sand against the clear blue sky. I used to have it as a background for my lj.
- Jack trying to get back Charlie. All that is so long ago, but watching it again, now that I know Jack better, makes it even more heart-breaking.
- Sara. (I can never remember if she is written with an "h" or not). I like her and I think Jack really loved her. When they are holding each other in the end and she says that they were good together, knowing that they can't go back to where they were, that makes me so sad. They both deserve happiness and I know that Jack eventually finds it with Daniel, but it's a rocky road with so much more heartbreak. Sometimes I wish he could have just gone back to Sarah and been happy with her, and I'm sad for him that it was already too late for that.
- Sam and Daniel working on the crystal and getting Teal'c to fire his staff weapon in the gate room. ("You did get permission for me to fire my staff weapon in the gate room?" "Sure." "Absolutely.") So adorable!
- Charlie. Oh Jack, how did you not break already?
The Nox
- Everyone dying for the first time and Daniel for the second time.
- Daniel stroking Jack's hair to wake him up.
- The Nox, who were running around in pyjamas with plants on their heads for only one episode and still managed to appear in many more fanfics than for example Jonas (both of them).
- "The very young..."
Brief Candle
- Daniel helping deliver the baby while Teal'c, Jack and the father pace around the room.
- Jack's comment "You never cease to amaze me with all your abilities" (or something like that) and Daniel's genuine smile when he says "Thank you."
- Jack having sex. It really wasn't spectacular, it was the wrong person and he was drugged, but Jack having sex always needs to be pointed out.
- Imagining how it would have been if Cynthia had offered the marriage cake to both Jack and Daniel.
Oh, I can't wait to watch more.Torment of Tantalus and Tin Man! And so many more. I think I will rewatch all of Stargate in order this year. A girl needs a plan for her life. ;-)

The 'Tell Me What to Create' AnonyMeme!
The rules are simple. You comment with your username, and people can tell you what they want to see you write. Or draw, or vid, or icon, whatever. Despite the name, they don't have to do it anonymously, though of course they certainly can. You then go through the comments and if you see that person who you've always wanted to write a Green Arrow AU set in the Terror, where Ollie is a Scarlet Pimpernel-esque figure, smuggling people out of Paris, then you tell them that they should write it.
Artists/writers/vidders are under no obligation to actually create these things, of course. But those memes are always fun when they go 'round and, well, I don't know about you, but I have no shame left and am fully willing to call a spade a spade: TELL ME WHAT TO WRITE, PLEASE!
